Closing Time at Pike Place by Bryce E. Pummer Via Flickr: Pike Place at night is beautiful. Five o’clock and the sky was a deep indigo, the signs were bright neon and the pedestrians were virtually unnoticeable. The city of Seattle sits so far north, the winter daylight hours are much shorter, which has helped give this photo a ton of contrast. Making this black and white makes everything pop, more than it otherwise would have been.

This is pretty much a straight photo. Only editing after the fact was to crop and give the hellish flaming colors. Original image had almost no color, practically B&W, so it was easy to re-color it.

I took this photo in my bathtub.
